I actually took a real vacation.
Not just a weekend away or an evening off, but an honest to goodness get on a plane and run away kind of vacation.
It's been almost 10 years since I did that. There's probably a whole blog post in there about that.
My phone is connected to my email so I could monitor my clients and make sure all was working but otherwise I ignored things.
Today I came back to work. And the amount of AI garbage in my feeds is astounding. You don't really notice it on the daily, but a week's worth of slop is obvious.
I get that it's easy to play with AI and sometimes fun, but it's stealing the same content over and over. And it's not human so there is no soul in any of it. It's all bad.
I just deleted dozens of messages but now I have a mental list. If I keep seeing the same stuff I'll be unsubscribing and changing what I allow into my inbox.
I am a creative. I only want to follow and hang out with other creatives. The Polin fanfic and art community is adamant about no AI. I wish the professionals in my life were as militant.
